• Adoption of the European Union Council Directive on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles. By this Directive control of Green Cards for vehicles normally based in a Member State of the European Union entering the territory of another Member State, was abolished.
